Tres
So, where were we? Oh yes,
anomie22 met me downtown. We the proceeded to the Java Break and continue our never ending game of gin rummy. We did that for a while and still had a bunch of time to kill so we went to get some dinner. We went to Chipotle for him, 'cause he really likes. I'm not a big fan, but I took a picture while we were there.
Then he bought me a sandwich from Jimmy John's 'cause he's nice and I was broke. We still had some time to kill before the doors opened at the Bottleneck so we went back to the Java Break.
We realized at this point part of why we had moved away, for we became bored. Soon enough, though, it was closer to time for the doors to open so we headed down the Bottleneck.
When we arrived we noticed that there was a line forming and also that
skajester and
the_lucky_nun were walking right toward us.

After about twenty minutes the doors opened and we went inside. We sat by the windows throughout the night until Fakebook came on. It was good because we could actually hear each other talk and see everyone who came in.

Jacque and
madcow575 were in attendence as well. It was excellent to see them. I hadn't seen Jacque in ages and as Ben said, she's the same old Jacque.

There were people standing outside who couldn't get in 'cause the show was sold out. I took a picture of them.
A person who appeared to be the fire marshall made an appearance, too.
Snoop Benny Ben
Ben massaged Tanya's back and it seems that he's pretty good at it -or- Tanya fell asleep and Ben took advantage of the situation.
And then it was time for the show. We got pretty close to the front and rocked out. Despite what it may look like, I did actually cut down the number of show pictures I kept. I took a lot more than these.

Kristen (pictured below) and a couple other people made this "We ♥ UFB" sign. It's cool.

hailsbels showed up after a little while.

They invited the crowd up on stage about this point.
Hey look, it's Hailey, Nick and Broc on stage on the right!

Hailey was nice enough to notice me near the stage and pull me up on stage with her.
Broc was up there too.

Those lights were hot.

As I got off stage I stopped for a photo with Bill, the lead singer. Unfortunately, somehow my camera had zoomed in at some point and so the picture resulted in half my face and a really big shot of Bill. Funny!
I fixed it before I took one with Tanya. Too bad I forgot to smile.

Yay! Me and Kristen after the show!
So, after all that excitement, it was off to the after party! Little Ben was wiped out by all the excitement and took a nap in the car.
Nick and Tanya, on the porch, waiting to be let inside 'cause it was fucking cold outside.
Ben and his friend Jason who also happened to be at the after party.
I mentioned to Ben, half jokingly, that this was the kind of party that I'd expect to randomly run into my cousin Mike. Not ten minutes later I ran into my cousin Mike.
He didn't like the first picture - "It looks like I've got a mouth full of cum" - so I took another.
And then, after all that, Tanya and Nick found me and Ben to give us our backpacks because they wanted to get out of there and go "make the donuts". Ben left soon after which was sadly the last time I saw him that weekend. It was really good to see him, though. I had much fun. Then, after several failed attemepts to get Kristen alone for thirty seconds to talk, I left and walked back to Rob and Cat's, which for those of you who don't know or remember, is across the hall from the apartment
theryn and I moved out of to move to Bloomington. So that walk was a little surreal. Walking back to that apartment building at four-thirty in the morning after seeing a bunch of my old friends, yeah, that was a trip.
The next day, Sunday, I woke up a little after noon and went to Teller's for breakfast with Rob and Cat. They were nice enough to offer to buy me food and I was nice enough to accept. The breakfast buffet at Teller's is awesome. I didn't know if I'd taken a picture of them all weekend, so I did, just in case.
After eating we walked back to their place and sat around checking e-mail, reading Livejournal, and watching television. I had a dinner date with my family at five so we just chilled. I left for dinner too early so I drove around a bit and stopped by the Hy-Vee on Clinton Parkway to check and see if they had any of the medicine Theryn used but couldn't find in Bloomington. No luck there so I headed back toward Molly McGee's and arrived just in time to meet my family. It was my grandfather, my mom, my uncle Mike and his wife Bonnie, my aunt Lea and uncle John, and my cousin Mike with his girlfriend, their son, and her two daughters. It was actually quite enjoyable. I'm glad I took the time to see them all.
Me and my aunt Lea.
My mom and grandfather examine Mike III's head for some reason I can't remember.
This kid is so cute. He just sits there looking around and will let you pick him up and do whatever without so much as a whine. He was trying to eat the strap that was holding him in for most of dinner, but moved on to Bonnie's jacket near the end.
My mom, Gayle.
Dinner was over and we all went our separate ways. I then headed to David and Courtney's to see if they were home 'cause their phone had been busy all day. David was there but Courtney was at church. We chilled and caught up on things. Turns out David moved to a store in Leavenworth as produce manager back in September and Courtney is working for a caterer who works from her home. David want to move back to a store in Lawrence but doesn't mind where he's at now, and Courtney is loving her job. She came home just in time to see me out because I had a season premiere Sopranos date with my mom that I had to make. I'm really glad I dropped by there 'cause it would have sucked to have been in town and not seen them.

On the way to my mom's place I noticed that the moon was really low, huge, and bright. I tried to take a picture of it, but you can't really tell how big it seemed.
After the Sopranos I said goodbye to my mom and headed back to Rob and Cat's to try and get some sleep for the drive ahead of me. I called to verify that Ben had a ride to the airport the next day and hit the sack.
I took some road pictures on the way home.

I took this one for
seaturtles and for those of you who may never have seen it. About an hour east of Columbia, MO there are these billboards that spell out "Mizzou" for the University of Missouri. While I can't like the school because I'm a Jayhawk, I think the billboards are pretty cool.
The mighty Mississippi... I think.
This was a welcome sight, 'cause it meant I was just a little over half way home.

I took this one for
thesoxgap 'cause I know how she likes those wide open spaces.
And the giant cross at exit 159 in Effingham, IL. A sign to me that my journey home is nearly complete.
And that does it. Aside from two more pictures of Cat that I will post at a later time and within a heavy filter, that's my trip to Lawrence in words and pictures. I miss my hometown a lot so it was good to be back for a little while. I also miss my best friends. It's really a shame neither Theryn nor Mia couldn't make it that weekend - that would have been just about perfect.
Pleasant dreams, and thanks for listening.
